Stand Alone Kits 1
Each standalone system is carefully designed and based on years of off-grid experiences by our partners (Annex and Conergy engineers) to ensure reliable power production even in the remotest areas.

The system outlined below is called Annex OffGrid 1 and designed for a typical load profile of a small domestic household.

Expected Load Profile :

- 3 hours use of 32” LCD television/video per day.

- 6 hours use of 200 watt lighting per day.

- 4 hours use of Pentium based computer / 17” LCD monitor.
The estimated daily load requirements for the above listed equipment are equal to approximately 2kWh/day. The solar charging contribution is based on 4 full sun hours per day.

Equipment Profile :

- 8 x Conergy 125 watt solar modules.

- Conergy SolarLinea mounting system.

- 1 x Conergy MIC 1500 watt pure sine wave inverter.

- 1 x Conergy 40 amp solar charge controller.

- 1 x Battery fuses.

- 1 x Small switchboard.

- 30m of 6mm twin-sheathed cable.

Solar Off-Grid Kits 2.5

This domestic power off-grid system is designed for a small 2 bedroom household.

Expected Load Profile :
This domestic power system has been sized for an average daily load profile of 9-14kWh/day. This system would suit an average 2 bedroom home comprising of a family room, 2 bathrooms, and full kitchen.

Remote area solar power systems of this size are usually not a ‘stand-alone’ type and they usually have a generator to meet periods of high demand and to provide general power back-up. A system of this size would be set up as 24 Volt DC system based on an average of 5 peak sun-hours per day, the solar array would provide approximately 40% of the household’s power needs.

Equipment Profile :

- 20 x Conergy 125 Watt solar modules

- Conergy SolarLinea mounting system

- 24 x 2 Volt 1000 Ah batteries

- 1 x 60 Amp solar charge controller.

- 1 x 3. kWp sinewave inverter with boost up function

- 1 x Battery fuses

- 1 x Small switchboard

- 1 x Small switchboard.

What could you power? If the 20 watt solar panel received 5 hours per day of full sun, then you would have generated 100 watt-hours of energy (double if you get 10 hours of sun!).If you were using a 20 watt table fan with the inverter (we'll call it 25 watts because the inverter uses some energy) then you could light the fan for about 4 hours with the energy you produced that day.But you have a battery! Since the battery holds 18 amp-hours or over 216 watt-hours of energy, you could on the fan for 8+ hours before you need a charge, but it's better to charge it sooner. You get the idea - the sun puts watt-hours into your battery and then you use it to power stuff that uses watt-hours. Energy in, energy out.The charge controller prevents the 12V sealed lead-acid battery from over-charging, the inverter converts the 12V DC to 220V AC (standard household-type power). The 300 watt inverter is limited to loads of 300 watts or less.
A solar power generator can benefit us in a variety of ways. Depending on the size, it can allow a homeowner and business to remain unaffected in the event of a power failure. It can also be used to simply cut the costs of daily energy use.

This energy can then be used to do such things as power lighting, computer, and run the TV.

The inverter is necessary to convert the DC power stored in the battery into AC power. Determining the appropriate strength of an inverter for a solar power system is a fairly simple task to accomplish. First, add up the wattages of all of the appliances the solar generator is intended to power. Then, select an inverter that is slightly more powerful.
